The married couple went to the hospital to have their baby delivered. Upon their arrival, the doctor said that the hospital was testing an amazing new high-tech machine that would transfer a portion of the mother's labor pain to the baby's father.
He asked if they were interested. Both said they were very much in favor of it.
The doctor set the pain transfer to 10% for starters, explaining that even 10% was probably more pain than the father had ever experienced before.
But as the labor progressed, the husband felt fine and asked the doctor to go ahead and kick it up a notch.
The doctor then adjusted the machine to 20% pain transfer. The husband was still feeling fine. The doctor then checked the husband's blood pressure and was amazed at how well he was doing.
At this point they decided to try for 50%. The husband continued to feel quite well.
Since the pain transfer was obviously helping the wife considerably, the husband encouraged the doctor to transfer ALL the pain to him.
The wife delivered a healthy baby with virtually no pain and the husband had experienced none. She and her husband were ecstatic.
When they got home they found the mailman dead on the porch.

A new report says popcorn is better for you than most fruits or vegetables. Popcorn is an unprocessed whole grain, and is loaded with antioxidants. Another scientific study finds those who eat chocolate frequently tend to weigh less than people who do NOT. So, hereâs to it! Letâs stop trying to make sense of all these nutritional studies, and make our own rules. For example, maybe we should eat chocolate cupcakes for medicinal purposes, or have a piece of pie to treat our depression. And let me ask you this. Would you REALLY give up Ice Cream if it meant you could live to be 100?
Did you know that adults attending a church, synagogue or mosque often report more positive emotions and fewer negative ones.
There a new survey out and it finds overall, 52%
of Americans reported experiencing none of the 4 negative emotions the previous day, but about 30% reported experiencing two or more, and nearly 5% experienced all 4 in a day. The survey also indicated those who frequently attended a church, synagogue or mosque experienced an average of 3.36 positive emotions per day, compared with an average of 3.08 among those who never attended or those who attended occasionally. 55% of all Americans reported experiencing all 4 positive emotions at least once in any given day of the week, 4% experienced none of the positive emotions and about 5% experienced only 1 of the 4positive emotions the prior day. Lizzie Griffiths said it was love at first sight when she adopted George the bearded dragon. She said of her fiance Chris Fisher, "Chris knows George will always come first. I fell in love with George the minute I saw him and knew I'd do anything to look after him properly. So right now we can't afford a wedding." George was the first bearded dragon in Britain to undergo chemotherapy. (The Sun)

STOP IT! Are you kiddin me? According to reports, Nokia has filed a patent for a new technology that would use tattoos with a special kind of ink to alert customers when they get new text messages or phone calls. The idea is that special ink, made of a "ferromagnetic" material, would pair with a mobile device much like a blue tooth ear piece would pair with a phone. A filing to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states, "The magnetic field may cause vibration of one short pulse, multiple short pulses, few long pulses... strong pulses, weak pulses and so on." 3 new studies out today add to growing evidence that taking aspirin every day can help prevent, and possibly treat, cancer. Previous studies had shown that a daily dose of aspirin reduces the long-term risk of death from cancer, but the new research, led by Peter Rothwell of Britain's Oxford University, has shown that it also has a short-term benefit in preventing the disease. Additionally, the new studies found that it will reduce the likelihood that cancers will spread to other organs by about 40 to 50 percent. There is already an intense debate about taking aspirin every day, however, because it increases the risk of internal bleeding in the stomach. Some people take the drug daily because it reduces the risk of blood clots forming and can therefore protect against heart attacks and strokes.
No kidding!!! More than two thirds of women would be too scared to go to work without a full face of make-up. Itâs according to a new survey, leaving the house bare-faced for the commute to work would be more stressful than public speaking, a job interview or even a first date for most women. The poll of 3,000 women found that more than half would be confident to be seen by their friends, family or partner without make-up. But 70 percent said that they would not want to be seen by their work colleagues or bosses without their hair and make-up done. Women end up having to get up half an hour before their male counterparts to get ready, spending an average of 21 minutes each morning applying their make-up ready for the working day. 31 percent would not go to the gym without make-up and astonishingly one in six women would not even answer the front door unless in full make-up. Women in the workforce are set to earn more than men for the 1st time in history! New research shows the next generation of female workers will take home more in all sectors of employment. The phenomenon marks such a cultural shift in the American way of life that author and journalist Liza Mundy used it as the basis for her book, The Richer Sex. Her research fins in U.S. cities, single women in their 20âs with no children, on average make more than men, according to Time Magazine. She wrote: 'Almost 40% of working wives out-earn their husbands' - and this number is rising. Over the next few decades, professions like law, medicine and veterinary medicine will be predominantly run by women!
The Laurens County Republican Party wants GOP candidates to sign a pledge NOT to have pre-martial sex or commit adultery if married.It also says you should never look at pornography again.The pledge, with 28 principals, is something you are being asked to sign under a newly-adopted resolution, before getting on the primary ballot.

There's a new poll (Jezebel.com) that finds while black women are heavier than their white counterparts, they have appreciably higher levels of self-esteem. Although 41% of average-sized or thin white women report having high self-esteem, that figure was 66% among black women considered by government standards to be overweight or obese.
Yahoo!'s Today in Tech blog reported yesterday (March 1st) on a new weapon being developed by Japanese researchers that uses sound waves to silence someone who's speaking. The gun operates by using a microphone to pick up what the speaker is saying and then play it back 0.2 seconds later. The effect confuses the brain, effectively shutting down the area responsible for managing speech, making it all but impossible to speak or hold a conversation, while not causing any physical harm. Developers talk about uses for the gun like enforcing silence in a library or an important large meeting, but there are also free speech implications, if, for instance, police were to use it against protesters at political demonstrations.
