Two deputies cleared after shooting incident in Greenville County

Two Greenville County sheriff's deputies have returned to duty after a shooting incident.

Sheriff's spokesman Zach Hinton said Tuesday that an internal investigation found that the deputies followed proper procedures.

Deputies were called to a home early Monday after a hit-and-run traffic accident near Greer. Officers say 22-year-old Timothy Keats Hudson came out of the home and fired a rifle at them while yelling
for deputies to get on the ground.

Investigators charged Hudson with two counts of attempted murder after a standoff. Officials say no one was hurt when Hudson shot at deputies and the officers fired back, shooting six rounds.

Hudson also is charged with using a gun while under the influence of alcohol. Deputies say he had a blood-alcohol content of .23 percent.
