Woman's body found inside burned Taylors home

A woman's body was found inside a Taylors home that was gutted by fire Tuesday morning, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office. The fire happened about 5:30 a.m. at 301 McConnell Rd.

Firefighters from the Taylors Fire Department said by the time they arrived the house was engulfed in flames and the roof had collapsed.

Just before 9 a.m., firefighters asked for an arson investigator from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office to respond to the scene. Deputies said during that investigation, the body was found.

Deputies said that later in the morning, a vehicle, which was registered to the address of the home that burned, was found abandoned in the northern part of the county.

An investigator with the Coroner's Office said the death is suspicious.
