Greenville gas prices drop nearly 5 cents



Gas prices in the Greenville area fell 4.7 cents last week, according to GasBuddy.com.

The price-tracking website reported the average cost in the Greenville area was at $3.41. That's 38 cents lower than the national average of $3.79.

Locally, the price was 16.9 cents lower than last month but 37.7 cents higher than last year. Nationally, the price was down less than a cent but 33.2 cents more than last year.

Experts said that usually, as the temperatures drop, so do the gas prices.
