Human remains found in Barrel at Lake Hartwell

Officials in Anderson county are investigating a woman's death..Anderson County Sheriff's Investigators located a suspicious barrel near Asbury Park at Lake Hartwell late Wednesday afternoon.

The barrel was opened Thursday morning by investigators and personnel from the Coroner's Office and contained human female remains.

The body has been identified, but the identity will not be released until the family has been notified.
The investigation into the cause and manner of death continues.
