Extended Mardis Gras feeling in New Orleans

Posted 12:06 PM 2/8/2010

MIAMI (AP) - As if Mardi Gras isn't enough, New Orleans now gets
to celebrate its first NFL title.

The Saints overcame an early 10-point deficit and pulled off a
risky onside kick last night to beat the Colts 31-17 in the Super
Bowl.

Quarterback Drew Brees tied a Super Bowl record for completions
and was voted the game's MVP. Holding the Super Bowl trophy, Brees
said the Saints victory was "destiny" and added: "We knew we had
an entire city and maybe an entire country behind us."

The parades leading up to Fat Tuesday on Feb. 16 had already
begun as the Saints, in their first Super Bowl, rallied with 15
unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

It triggered dancing in the streets as all of New Orleans was
transformed into one big Bourbon Street.
